Many Micronationalists and non-Micronationalists seem to be very confused about the current situation in Austenasia. One website, Austenasia.com speaks of a recent coronation, one of 'Johannes Karl I' who they claim is Emperor of Austenasia, while Austenasia.org speaks of the Emperor currently being Alexander VI. Who is telling the truth? Well Central Mercia Today can tell you exactly who is being truthful and who is not.
The current Emperor of Austenasia is definitively Alexander VI, who was crowned on the 30 of September 2025. This is both present on MicroWiki and Austenasia.org, of which the latter is the official website of Austenasia. The reason why there is this rival narative that Johannes Andreasuum of Angle-Saxland is Emperor is because of the 2025 Austenasian Coup attempt. The Coup attempt was a very large and complex event, therefore this article will be very brief about it. The main premise of the event is that Lord Andrew Musgrave, former Prime Minister rebelled against former Emperor Aggelos I for calling an early general election, an act the Emperor is unable to do. This would lead to Musgrave being forced out of office after a vote of no confidence in the Senate, which would lead to him doubling down on his actions and declaring that he now controlled Austenasia, and that it was now a Commonwealth with him as Lord Protector. This claim was completely untrue, with his 'Commonwealth of Austenasia' only controlling the territory of Corinium Terentium. Today the Commonwealth has gained a few more territories, (currently the count is four), also keeping control of Austenasia.com and turning it into the nation's website. Recently the Commonwealth reorganised into an Empire after crowning Johannes Andreasuum as Emperor Johannes Karl I, even hiring famed actor Colin Baker to narrate a short documentary about the coronation. Although many think Austenasia.com is the real Austenasia, especially because of the trademark Musgrave registered on Austenasia, it is not. The Empire of Austenasia ran by Musgrave (known as Andrewasia) is a fringe political group, Austenasia.org is the true website. God Save the Emperor!
